Question 1 (10 Marks)

Flyways Airlines Ltd signs a contract with Boeing Corporation Ltd for Boeing to build a new aircraft. On average, Flyways would make $500,000 profit per day from using such an aircraft.

The contract has 678 terms. Term 65 says that the plane must be able to travel 9,000 km at 700 km per hour. Term 457 says that the aircraft must have an in-flight video system capable of showing 27 channels of entertainment to passengers.

After the contract is signed, Boeing sends to Flyways a package containing a large number of documents, including the contract itself and examples of the color scheme that will be used. In the middle of these documents there is also a new document headed ‘Liability Limitation’, the key part of which states as follows:

The liability of Boeing Corporation Ltd for breach of contract is capped at $400,000.

When the plane is delivered, its engine areas are required, but, due to confusion at the factory, the wrong software has been loaded into the entertainment system, which has only 21 channels. It would take a week to re-configure the software.

Advise Flyways Airlines fully as to what its legal position is, citing relevant case law.

Question 2 (15 Marks)

Bob runs a company which manufactures and sells computer equipment. He relates the following set of facts to you:

On 1 January Bob receives an email from Mike Jones which reads: “I offer to purchase 30 Toshiba Satellite laptops for $ 300 each, inclusive of GST, delivery, and insurance”. In response, on 2 January Bob sent an email to Mike saying “I accept your offer, but the price would have to be $300 plus GST. On 3 January Mike sends an email back saying “No, I can’t agree to that”. On 5 January Bob then sends an email saying “OK, I accept your offer of 1 January”, however when he sends the computers to Mike with an invoice for $9,000, Mike sends the computers back and refuses to pay for them, saying that he has purchased computers elsewhere.

On 10 January, Bob sends a letter to Tom stating “Please send me 200 Pentium 5 hard- drives at $50 each”. On 12 January Tom puts a letter into the post stating “OK – I will deliver the hard-drives before the end of the month. Bob subsequently finds that he no longer needs the hard drives, and on 14 January sends Tom an email saying “Please cancel my order of 10 January”. Tom’s letter reaches Bob on 15 January, and the hard- drives are delivered a few days later with an invoice for $10,000, which Bob refuses to pay.

Steve has done favors for Bob, such as looking after Bob’s cat when he (Bob) went on holiday. On 1 February, Steve says to Bob “I need a new computer for my travel agency”. Bob says “OK, because you looked after my cat, I’ll give you a new computer”. Bob then changes his mind and says to Steve: “Sorry, mate, trading has been bad these last few weeks – I just can’t afford to give you the computers”.

Bob is thinking of buying a delivery van. He has been in negotiations with Capital Motors, whose sales manager is Mary. One Monday morning he sees a form sent by Mary in which she offers to sell him a Toyota Hilux 3000 automatic with air conditioning for $33,000. The top sheet of the form contains a line that says “I agree to the purchase of this vehicle as specified in this document” and with a space for a signature and date. Bob sets the document aside on his desk, and it soon gets mixed up with piles of other paperwork. Later during the day, he signs the form, thinking that it was the front page of another contract he had been sent by a supplier of microchips. He gives it to his office manager, Tim, and says “Send this by fax”. A few days later he receives a call from Mary asking him when he will pick up the vehicle. He tells Mary that he did not order a vehicle from her. When Mary tells him about the fax, he realizes what happened and tells her that he had sent it by accident and that he never intended to agree to the contract. She says “Too bad, we have a deal – I have already ordered another vehicle to replenish my stock”.

Task -b) Wired & Wireless LAN design for a typical floor, which includes the following information: –

Task -b: Wired & Wireless LAN design
Wired LAN design
(i) Computer desktop layout plan with network topology for a typical floor level.

A Local Area Network (LAN) has the capability to connect the group of computers such as office buildings, homes, and schools. This network can share the resources such as printers, files, games, and emails. A LAN can use Ethernet or Wi-fi to connect the network devices together. The Wireless LAN (WLAN) can operate on one or more wireless access points and network devices can connect within the range of the wireless signal. The access point can change to manage the traffic flow in the network and it also acts as an interface between local networks to outside networks. The ethernet LAN has one or more network devices such as hubs, routers, or switches to connect each individual device through Ethernet cables. Both wireless and wired LANs can connect the network devices directly using peer-to-peer or ad-hoc connections instead of central devices. Most of the business or enterprises and home network can use both wired and wireless LAN due to low cost and requirement of network speed. This network can set up with a fiber optical cable to connect each network device.

The network topology plays a vital role to set up the network layout. The network devices should arrange in order to maintain the network and work properly. The order or arrangements of the network devices depends on the capabilities of network hardware and data transfer modes. The above two factors subdivided into two in network topologies are physical and logical topology. For our case study, we suggest physical star topology and layout of this topology of the transmission media not required to maintain star pattern and required to follow the physical properties and characteristics that each device in the network should connect by individual cable to central point. The physical star topology has multiple cables to connect each device which are attached to the central device. The network devices attached using 10 Base-T hubs which are represented have twisted pair cable cat 6a.

Figure 1: Wired LAN network devices

The topology of selection for this case study is star topology which can easily install and wire and there is no disturbance in the network when we connect or remove the network devices. We can easily detect the faults in this topology and remove fault parts separately to work the network. This topology has some drawbacks are needed more cable to connect each device to the central network device instead of linear topology. In case any of the network devices such as the hub, switch, or routers failed the connected node also disabled. The star topology is more expensive than the bus topology due to the central hub. This topology uses the twisted pair cable which has various categories but for our case study we use Cat 6E (Enhanced) which has 4 pairs and maximum data speed can be 1000 Mbps. The common cable use in this is 1000 Base T 100 m. The Cat 6 E designed for double transmission which has 500 MHz by wrapping with foil shielding and Ethernet speed will be 10 Gigabit and the maximum length of the cable is 100 meters.

(ii) Switch/Wireless Access Point location

Switch Specification

In wired LAN we have various switches available in the market which are different in terms of form factor, physical configuration, a number of network ports include Power Over Ethernet (POE), and protocol to routing the packets. The selection of the switch features of hardware can support the requirement of the network. When we design a network, we must select the proper hardware and requirement and growth of the network in the enterprise network.

The router and switches play a critical role in communication. According to the case study, we suggest the Data Center Switch is build based on switches that promote the scalability of the network infrastructure, transport flexibility, and operational continuity. The data center switch series is Cisco Nexus and Cisco Catalyst 6500 Series. The series of the switch can support layer 2, layer 3, and modularity and speed will be up to 11.4 Tbps. It can support 528X1G and 180 X 10 G port and also support SD – access and Cisco DNA.

Assignment Description:

Design and implementation of wireless LAN for a small campus

Wireless networks are difficult to manage and secure due to the diverse nature of components and open availability of standards compared to the wired network. Nowadays, their several security practices expected to illustrate why there is a need to implement security tools in WLAN under different attacks. There are high possibilities that unauthorized users may be received access to the network within the range of Wireless Network. The organization needs to secure its WLAN to ensure business safety and customer protection.

In this project, we want to install the WLAN services on a small campus with a limited number of users. It is necessary to consider the possibility of all attacks from unauthorized users in a wireless network environment. The internal network can be further secured to provide access to authorized staff members only with high security.  To facilitate internet access to students in different classrooms, libraries, and/or cafeterias, we may implement WLAN in such a way Internet access is available to any user (without authentication).

You can find a set of tools such as WAP or WAP2 used for providing high-quality network security. The tools help you to protect the network with a large coverage area.

My Best Assignment Help

BN303 T3 2019 WIRELESS NETWORK

We need to discover different types of IEEE802.11a/b/g/n wireless networks within range in real-time. The tools need to provide information about the network like name, SSID, security strength, source type, and basic address of the network. The security ensures the authentication of users in WLAN and the users on the wired network. We recommended doing it by deploying IEEE802.11x authentication that provides authentication for devices trying to connect with other devices on LANs or wireless LANs.

The main objective of this assignment is to implement the IEEE 802.1X standard for security over wireless LAN authentications for a campus with a limited number of users.

My Best Assignment Help

BN303 T3 2019 WIRELESS NETWORK

Best practices for deploying 802.1X should start with a well thought out plan that includes, but is not limited to, the following considerations:

  • Give your proposed WLAN design for the campus. How can you secure your designed network from all kinds of attacks using the WPA or WPA2 technique? Consider the network design with devices that support 802.1X
  • Give a single and unified solution IEEE 802.11x network Protection-capable Management Frames that uses the existing security mechanisms rather than creating a new security scheme.
  • You need to deploy a secure 802.1X of any suitable (maybe Cisco and Xirrus) wireless network to serve 300 users of University A. Keep in mind that their challenges are to find a solution that best eased their deployment, device authentication, and troubleshooting tools, and supported their diverse mix of user devices and multi-vendor network equipment. After careful evaluation, you observed that the AAA/NAC platform supports multi-vendor environments. Deploy a solution that supports all existing infrastructure and works in multi-vendor environments. For user configuration support, use a solution that supports multiple operating systems such as Windows, Mac OS, and Linux.

Overview

This Value Proposition report is a continuation of your Marketing Intelligence report (Assessment 1). The aim of this assessment is for you to recommend a new value proposition by incorporating a new brand strategy and product/service innovation strategy for the Industry Partner by drawing from your Assessment 1 research findings and proposed growth strategies.

BUSM4739 Marketing for managers

To be successful in this assessment you must draw insights from your Assessment 1 as this is critical to inform your discussions. You are required to demonstrate your understanding of customer's higher-order values and motives, superior application of the Value Proposition creation processes, demonstrate a reimagining of a brand purpose and strategy as well as relevant product/service strategy. These skills are highly imperative in Marketing to add value to a company’s brand narrative.

You will need to apply several marketing activities taught in the course to complete this report. A successful report will be able to demonstrate appropriate understanding and application of the theories of Value Proposition creation (such as Brand Purpose, Brand Champion, Value Proposition Canvas as well as Kotler and Lee’s Five Product Levels model) to propose a meaningful Value Proposition that is consistent with the Industry Partner’s brand, and which will be appealing to its target market. You will receive written (on Canvas) and verbal feedback (discussed in class) to help you to prepare for Assessment 3.

This report will form a basis when developing further Communications strategy (Assessment 3) to add value to the Industry Partner’s brand narrative.

Assessment details

Introduction

In this assessment, you are required to make several recommendations regarding the Industry Partner’s value proposition, which relates to their brand and product/service strategy. You will need to draw insights from the analysis that you conducted in Assessment 1.

Value propositions incorporate intangible value, inherent in the brand strategy, and tangible value contained in your product/service innovation strategy including both core and augmented product/service attributes.

The aim of a value proposition is to create a market offering that appeals to your consumers higher- order values and motives and functional desires and/or needs. Value proposition serves two basic functions:

  • it is a promise to deliver value to the target market and
  • it differentiates a company from its competitors.
